Robie Thorn, CGA, obtained his degree from Simon Fraser University, majoring in Commerce. He began his career as controller of a trucking company and regional airline in the Northwest Territories. His path next led him to the commercial banking industry, where for the next twenty years, he specialized in loan proposals for expansion, business acquisitions, real estate, re-organization counseling for small business, conducting small business seminars and on the management of several branch offices.

In 1995, Robie joined McMillan Thorn as partner.  His interest is working closely with clients in all areas of day-to-day business and personal operations in order to meet their accounting and tax needs, and providing financial solutions that will allow them to achieve the success they deserve.

Robie is committed to the Whistler community and served as a board member of the Whistler Valley Housing Society for five years, a board member and vice chair of the Whistler Community Services Society and has been active in adult hockey as a referee. Currently he is a member of the board of directors of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce.

Cindy Aitken, CGA, earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1992, and her CGA designation in June 1997.  She has been with the firm since 1995, joining on a full time basis in April 1997.  She became a partner in the firm in 2000.

Cindy’s knowledge and experience with estate work, and the not-for-profit, personal and corporate sectors allow her to provide guidance and accounting and tax support to our clients. In addition, she is knowledgeable in many different accounting programs and enjoys assisting our clients with system set ups and training.  

Cindy enjoys living in Squamish and has been active in the Whistler community, where she acted as treasurer and committee member of the Whistler Community Services Society and is a member of the Women of Whistler business organization.
